Last Sunday, March 26, I ran a semi-long distance in Pinoy Fitness Sub1 10k Challenge 2017 (I also joined this event last year and I made a post about it too). This was the first event that I joined after my full marathon last month which worsened my injured foot. After that race, I told myself that I would take the whole March off from any foot-straining activities (i.e. Leg days, hiking and running). During my workouts, I still tried to incorporate short runs as my warm up to gauge the condition of my foot. A lot of times, I had to stop because of a discomfort that would oftentimes arise after a kilometer or two. This was also why I was convinced that I was not ready to join any events yet.
However, just a week before the race, my friend convinced me to run since he already got me a kit. I knew for a fact that I would not be able to train in such a short span of time but I tried anyway. In fact, I only had one “training” run but I would not even consider that training because I only ran about three kilometers with a relatively slow pace to boot.
A full marathon? 42 kilometers of foot/legwork? I never would have imagined completing such distance because when I first started running, I remember telling myself that I would already be happy finishing a half-marathon or a 21-kilometer race. Added to the fact that I have experienced a lot of pain during runs, mostly because of my knee, I simply laughed at the idea of me running past a half-marathon. (PS: My knees do not hurt during runs anymore. I guess they they got used to the strain. That or they healed stronger after every race. Either way, that works for me! I still wear knee support though just in case.)
Yes, it seemed crazy at first but my aspirations and goals grew in time and I slowly started to want that 42k medal and so I mentally planned for it and even mentioned it in one of my previous blog posts – that I would use the hashtag #RoadToFortyTwo when I start training for a full marathon. Which brings us to my participation in 7Eleven Run 2017 last February 4-5, 2017.
Hi everyone! I recently finished a 21-kilometer run in PSE Bull Run 2017. I actually ran out of kits for this so I thought I would not be able to join. I got a bit disappointed because aside from its perfect schedule that fits my training runs for my first full marathon (yes, I’m currently training for my upcoming 42km run. OMGGG serious na! #RoadToFortyTwo), I also pegged this as my run for the month.
Just when I thought I would not be able to join, a friend of mine told me that he was able to score two kits! And so without hesitations, I agreed to get the other one.
Unfortunately, I got sick the day before the race so I thought I would have a sloppy run come race day. Surprisingly, I performed better than expected. Read on below to know more about this “sick run”.
Hi everyone! This will just be a quick post on what I call as a “comeback run”. I say this because the last race I joined was about three months ago in Pinoy Fitness Kasama Run. And during the months I did not run, I admit that I had zero to little mileage in a week.
And even so, I still dared to join a half marathon run to test if I can still finish it in less than two hours and thirty minutes.

I think it is safe to assume that almost everyone wants to look and feel good about themselves. And because of this, many result to doing things outside of their comfort zones such as going on a diet and exercising among others. However, stepping out of one’s comfort zone requires a lot of effort which discourages some before they even start.
And honestly, it will be difficult at first but it will always be worth it in the end.
Hi! Last Sunday, I was able to complete a 16-kilometer race in Pinoy Fitness Kasama Run despite the moody weather. Coincidentally, my parents joined the Ancop Global Walk which also took place last Sunday in SM Mall of Asia so I did not have problems asking my dad to take me to the venue. Yaay!
I was not able to train properly for this run because of the bad weather in the past few days but the results turned out to be better than I expected.
Hi everyone! Just a week after running my second half-marathon, I ran a short-distance race in PBA Run For A Cause 7 (July 10, 2016). I was very lucky because the company I work for is one of the sponsors so I was able to get a race kit for free. (That’s some serious work-lifestyle integration am I right? Lol.)
My officemates wanted me to join the 15k category but I refused and said that I only wanted a short-distance race because first, it will serve as my recovery run and second, I will TRY to earn a podium finish (though I was not very confident about it at first).
From my previous fun run post, I mentioned that my next goal was to earn a podium finish for a 5k race and with His grace, I was able to do it.
Hi! Last July 3, I completed my second half-marathon/21km race in Run GNC 2016 which was held in Mall of Asia Running Grounds. I aimed to beat my PR in this race even though I had minimal training because of the bad weather.
I like joining fun runs with a cause and this was for the benefit of the Cancer Warrior Foundation.

Hi everyone! Last May 21, 2016, I participated in Accenture’s annual fun run and sports fest event entitled, Run and Rock 2016, which was held in McKinley West in Taguig. I was invited to this race by my friends from Accenture who were also really kind enough to sponsor my race kit.
Because I was not fully recovered from the sickness I had recently, my body was still weak on the week of the race. I had no training and I was not able to add any mileage at all and my mom even told me to just rest and skip the run. But being the stubborn, little girl that I am, I still decided to go to the run because first, I love running and second, I did not want to waste the race kit that was given to me.
Hi everyone! Recently, I have been evaluating the results of my fitness journey so far. As mentioned before, the results have been slow to show but in the end, what matters is not about how fast I get results but the consistency in doing the things that will take me a step closer to my goals. In this post, I wanted to focus and share more about one of the aspects of this journey: Running.
Frankly speaking, this activity is something that I never imagined myself doing because I was not an avid fan of sweating and doing any strenuous physical activities. My logic back then was, why bother sweating for it when you can just breeze through it? Meaning, I always chose the easier route. For example, why bother using the stairs when you can use the escalator instead?
I know, I had a very lazy mindset back then. But now, I am very happy to say that I have successfully turned that way of thinking around to something more productive and goal-driven.
