Last September 16-17, I was finally able to go to the beach for some much needed relaxation with my friends/officemates. But before the relaxation, we volunteered through DENR for the 32nd International Coastal Cleanup which was simultaneously done in several countries.
It was just the perfect balance of work and play as we explored the beautiful province of Zambales.

Hi! I was invited to a twin hike to Mt. Fato and Mt. Kupapey last weekend, October 15-16. Unfortunately, due to the typhoon (Karen) that hit North Luzon over the weekend as well, we were only able to climb Mt. Fato – my 42nd mountain.
Elevation: 1400+ MASL
Location: Maligcong, Bontoc, Mountain Province
Difficulty: 2/9 (This is just my rating. The trail is wide and beautiful with a lot of pine trees)
Trek to Summit: 1 hour
Because we were unable to do the main activity of this trip, climbing Mt. Kupapey, we found ourselves exploring different sites in Sagada instead. This came as a surprise because going here was not part of our itinerary but because of bus and jeep schedules, we decided to take the bus from Sagada back to Manila.
Read on below for the full story.

Hi everyone! One of the most popular activities today would probably be hiking. All around my social media feed, I see photos of hikes to different mountains and undeniably, my blog has been mostly about my trips to the mountains (itinerary, cost breakdown, etc.). But I realized that I never really got to sit down and share about what I think about hiking and what it has done for me.
So this blog post will focus mainly on those.

Last Holy Saturday, my dad, brother and I went to Pangasinan to visit our relatives. We had to go back on the same day; however, because my mom and I still had to serve at the Easter Vigil at night.
Even though I knew that it was going to be a tiring day, I still decided to come along because Pangasinan is a place close to my heart.

Hi everyone! Wouldn’t you agree that one of the best feelings in the world is being able to accomplish something you once thought was impossible? This was what I felt as soon as I got back from my recent hiking trip last January 30-31 in Mt. Pulag which is my 13th mountain and my first major climb.
Elevation: 2922 MASL
Location: via Akiki Trail – Kabayan, Benguet, via Ambangeg Trail – Bokod, Benguet
Difficulty: via Akiki Trail – 7/9, via Ambangeg Trail –3/9
Trek to Summit: via Akiki Trail – 10-11 hours, via Ambangeg Trail – 4 hours
*Please note that our group used Akiki Trail to ascend
I have been talking about wanting to climb Mt. Pulag in some of my previous posts and in this one; I can finally share my firsthand experience in conquering Luzon’s highest mountain and the Philippines’ third highest!

Hi! I just came back from a quick vacation and hiking trip which has been nothing short of amazing. A couple of weeks ago, I was invited by my friend, Robin, to join his hike to Mt. Ulap in Ampucao, Itogon, Benguet. I was hesitant at first because of the location and conflict in schedule (as it coincides with my fun run) but since Mt. Ulap is included in my hike list, I agreed.
Height: 1846 MASL
Location: Ampucao, Itogon, Benguet
Trek to Summit: 5 hours, 15 minutes*
Originally, I was planning to go to the Cordillera Mountains by 2016; I never thought I would be ending the year with a climb to one! Read on below to know more about my 11th hike last December 13, 2015.

Well what do you know; spontaneous trips really have higher chances of pushing through than pre-planned ones. Last November 3 and 4, I went with my sister and her friends to an overnight trip in Subic. I said spontaneous because originally, the plan was to go to Cagbalete in Quezon (I even made the itinerary) but due to some unwanted cases, we ended up in Subic.
This trip also happened in the middle of the week so I had to go back to work the following day. Nonetheless, I was still happy to have taken even just a quick break.

Mt. Balagbag has got to be one of the cheapest hiking destinations near the metro that still offers stunning views from its summit as expected from a mountain that is part of Sierra Madre. And last Sunday, October 25, I was fortunate enough to be able to hike up this beautiful mountain.
Height: 777+ MASL
Location: Rodriguez, Rizal/Norzagaray, Bulacan
Trek to Summit: 1 hour 30 minutes
Even though the trek to the summit is relatively fast compared to other mountains, one should still not underestimate the trail. Allow me to share my take on hiking Mt. Balagbag, my 8th mountain!

I noticed that every time I see relatives or friends again after some time, they would all tell me almost the same things like, “Ang galing mo, umaakyat ka na ngayon ng bundok. Pano yun?” which I of course take as a compliment. And from there, they would often ask me about my hiking experiences which is why I decided to make a post about their questions and my answers.

Hi! A couple of weeks ago, a friend of mine asked me to organize a hike to Mt. Pico de Loro, also known as Mt. Palay Palay. Because it will be her first time to hike and because I haven’t climbed that mountain yet, I readily agreed. Even though there was a storm the week we planned to climb, we decided to push through and by some sheer luck, not a single raindrop was felt during our entire hike.
And because of the great weather last September 25, I was able to summit my 7th mountain!
Height: 664+ MASL
Location: Ternate, Cavite
Trek to Summit: 3 hours 20 minutes
